Foundation PAIX 21
'Fondation Paix 21' was created in 2005 through the initiative, and under the presidency, of Roselyne Crausaz, a former councillor of state in Fribourg, Switzerland. The idea for the foundaton came from 'Peace-2000', begun
in Basel, Switzerland, by Hans Zihlmannn. He wanted to mark the turn of the millennium through different initiatives
in favor of peace.
The objective of the 'Foundation' is to encourage individuals' commitment to the promotion of peace in the world.
The Foundation members are :
Roselyne Crausaz, president; Hans Zihlmann, vice-president; Prof.Dr.med. Günter Schmolz, vice-president;
Horst Tögel, founder and director of the Brenz Band; Hans Schlegel, treasurer.
The 1st 'Festival MakelLos - SansTache' in OSTERBURKEN 2008
The first such event took place from 23rd to 25th of May 2008 in Osterburken, Germany.
BBO (Behinderten-Begegnungsstätte, Osterburken) was partner of 'Fondation Paix 21' in Germany. Since 1994,
BBO is a place where people with and without a disability can meet each other throughout the year. Through the
intense dedication of Werner Sabelhaus and Helmut Frodl (BBO) the first festival was a wonderful and
unforgettable event !.

The 2nd 'Festival MakelLos - SansTache' in FRIBOURG 2011
After the first festival in 2008, everyone unanimously decided that the show must go on!
The 2nd festival took place in Fribourg, Switzerland, from 16th to 20th June 2011 in the 'St. Léonard' concert hall
and in the theatre of the higher institution for teacher training (HEP). It saw the light after 3 years of intensive
preparation by the dedicated local committee under the presidency of Roselyne Crausaz. The three gala
were again an outstanding succes for both the oganisers and participants from 6 different countries.
All of the music and theater performences presented enchanted the audience. A special mention is dedicated to:
the spectacular drum group 'Ai Kwang Won' from South Korea; the 'Tango-Insieme Orchestre' from Basel,
Switzerland accompagnied by the deaf performer Corinne Parrat, 'Miss Handicap Swiss 2009'; and MUX.
The latter is a group from Zürich which communicates tango music by sign language to people with a severe hearing
handicap. One particulary remembers the 'Eben-Hézer Band' from Lausanne, Switzerland, who perform an
exceptional blues and jazz and songs of Johnny Hallyday and Bob Marley. Also the theatre troupe 'Association Insieme' from Fribourg. And, obviously, the 'Brenz Band' from Ludwigsburg, who again had the honour to open the
festival.
The level of artistic and musical accomplishment throughout the 2011 festival was impressive, the performances brilliant andamazingly diverse.

Concerts for Peace by the Brenz Band
On 24th June 2005, 'Fondation Paix 21' organized a major concert with 'The Brenz Band' from Ludwigsburg, Germany in the Fribourg festival hall. 'The Brenz Band' is a group of 16 musicians, 9 of them with an itellectual and/or physical impairment. The band was createdby Horst Toegel and has been directed by him ever since.
After the concert, Roselyne Crausaz and Horst Tögel launched the idea of periodically organizing an
International European Culture Festival for people with and without disabilities, giving them an oppotunity to
publically showcase their cultural talents.
